It's giveaway time!

It's about time for a giveaway around here, don't you think?

I decided when I mentioned our family worship time that I wanted to give away a copy of the Bible storybook we use, The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name.

There are not even words to tell you how much I love this book. It tells all of the major stories of the Old and New Testament, but instead of simply recounting the events of the story, it also shows how every story - how every word of the Bible - points to Jesus.

In the first chapter, as the author is explaining what the Bible is, she says this: "The Bible isn't mainly about you and what you should be doing. It's about God and what He has done."

I always keep a supply of these on hand to use as gifts and recommend them to anyone - not just families with young children.

So, if you'd like to win a copy of this awesome book, just leave a comment between now and Monday night. I'll use a random number picker to choose the winner. The comment doesn't have to be anything specific, so don't feel like you have to plead for the book or make up stories about how you never owned a book when you were a kid or how you have seventeen handicapped children and all you've ever wanted was a book for them.

However, should you decide to gush about what a great blogger I am and how I'm the most awesome giver-away-er ever, I might enter your comment number in the drawing twice. Just kidding. Maybe.

Our family worship time consists of a chapter from the Bible, then a portion of a children's Bible or story book, then scripture verse recitation, singing a few songs, then prayer. Last night, Grace, my four year old, announced that she did not want to read a story from the children's books because, she said, we've read them before and she didn't want to keep reading the same ones. Rather timely that I'm seeing your blog post giveaway today, as it will meet that 1-day-old need for a new children's Bible storybook. Should we not be chosen for the giveaway, my child's dreams will be crushed and her interest in the things of God snuffed out forever, including her desire to raise 17 handicapped children from Haiti one day. Other than that last sentence, the above is entirely true. Thanks, and it's an honor just to be nominated.

I can't top the above comment about raising the children from Haiti.....

I've heard great things about this book and need to go get a copy. We've talked a lot about wanting to have a book to keep at the dinner table to read from after meals. Is this a good one for preschoolers and older kids?

We always love having a new Bible story book to read. The kids fav right now is the picture Bible by Tommy Nelson publishers. It is the actual Bible - not a paraphrase - with pictures. This one you're giving away sounds wonderful, though! I may even go get one myself if I don't win - though, as your oldest and dearest friend.... :)

We have this book and LURVE it, so if my name gets picked you can pick someone else, (plus I live in Canada and you would have to sell your firstborn to pay for the postage) but I just wanted to chime in and say how GREAT this book is.

What a great giveaway! We are always on the look out for new devotational books to use with our kids, and I have never heard of this one. Most of the books we have, we have already gone through several times.

I hope you have a great weekend! When I read your blog, I often think that our kids would have fun together. They are very similar in ages (you just need to catch up and have one more baby girl) and the things they are interested in. If you ever come to Southern California, give me a call!

Hmmmm....... Now, I'm really tempted to make up a sob story about my family. How's this I have 3 preschoolers, is that pathetic enough? Oh, wait that's true.....
